The Fat-Burning Benefits of Green Drinks

Last update: 17 April, 2015

If your goals are to detoxify your body and burn fat, make green drinks a part of your plan. Their high levels of nutrients will ensure you stay healthy. Loaded with vitamins and minerals, they’re an excellent choice for keeping fit.

Get to know about some of the green drinks that, due to their unique properties, are very effective at burning fats. This is why they’re also especially beneficial if  you’re someone who prefers to lose weight naturally without risking your health or resorting to invasive treatments.

Killer combo: kiwi, spinach and lettuce

Sliced kiwi

When combined, these three powerhouse plants become an irresistibly healthy juice with a high fibre content, chlorophyll and an explosion of antioxidants. Their diuretic properties mean that they’re brilliant for burning enough fat to lose excess weight so you can treat yourself to smaller sized clothing. Apart from the bountiful nutrients imparted by this fabulous green drink, its ingredients help improve digestive transit and reduce symptoms of stress.

To properly prepare this juice, first peel and wash a kiwi, then wash five spinach leaves and three lettuce leaves. Put them all in the blender along with a glass of boiling water and a tablespoon of agave nectar or maple syrup. Blend until thoroughly mixed together, then strain the liquid. Bottoms up!

You can – indeed, should – enjoy this smoothie at least three mornings per week.

Pear, celery, pineapple, grapefruit and agave

Celery and pineapple

Once blended together well, these ingredients make a lovely and refreshing drink that contains a vast array of nutrients that benefit your body. Bonus points: this juice is a reliable diuretic. Its high levels of fibre help you to effectively eliminate fats and toxins, too.

For best results, drink this invigorating smoothie for five consecutive days. Make sure it’s on an empty stomach. Following a week of rest, return to the routine. Provided that your body digests it well, you can confidently continue drinking it five times a week. Be vigilant, though. If you’re feeling any undesirable effects, limit your consumption to just once a week. You’ll still get good results, including improved health.

To make this smoothie, use half a pear, two stalks of celery, the juice of two grapefruit, a slice of pineapple and a tablespoon of agave nectar. Put the ingredients in a blender until they produce a smooth mixture, then drink to your heart’s content.

Fat-burning green juice

Parsley green drink

Specially engineered to burn fat, you should ideally drink this juice for 10 mornings. Alternate with this routine so that you have one 10 days on and 10 days off. This juice is astoundingly high in vitamins C and B6, but it’s also jam-packed with fibre, folic acid, Omega-3, phytonutrients and antioxidants.

It’s so easy to prepare, too. Just thoroughly wash a celery stalk, seven spinach leaves and a half cup of parsley. Wash, peel and slice an apple and half a cucumber. Juice a lemon. Whizz everything together and drink it straight away.

All of these smoothies are depurative (purifying), so avoid drinking them too frequently or over long periods of time. Stay aware of any unwanted reactions, too. If you do experience detox symptoms that are too intense like fatigue, headaches, or spots on your body or face, stop consuming them or drink less. We’re all different and so our bodies can behave differently to any given treatment, even those that are completely safe and natural.
