As milk has many healing and anti-inflammatory properties, it is ideal to use on sore blemishes or boils. Simply soak a piece of bread in some warm milk and apply over the spot or boil. This will help to soothe and calm the skin and reduce redness.

To help remove blackheads, mix a little milk with natural lemon juice Massage over the face for five minutes and leave it to absorb into the skin. Your skin and pores will look much clearer.

Powdered milk is ideal for treating sunburn and insect bites. To help soothe burns and neutralise insect poison, simply mix a tablespoon of powdered milk with two tablespoons of water and a pinch of salt. Once mixed, apply to the sunburn or bite and let it relieve your discomfort.

Mix honey and milk together and apply all over your body, concentrating on dry areas, such as your knees, elbows and feet. Massage in and rinse with warm water. You could also try mixing milk and honey with some brown sugar for a body exfoliator.  Once mixed together, use the scrub all over your body and rinse off thoroughly. Your skin will feel incredibly soft, smooth and hydrated after use.

A milk remedy for your feet

If you have dry, cracked or sore feet, mix some warm water with a small amount of shea or cacao butter and place in a large bowl. Soak your feet in the bowl for fifteen minutes and then pat dry. Your feet will feel much softer and moisturised.
